The wind is calm. The sun peaks over the tree tops casting
long shadows across the meandering fairway, the morning dew sparking on the
finely cut grass. You address your ball placed high on the tee. In your
carefully creased khakis and polo shirt, you know you look good! It is a
picture of perfection. The grip is firm but not tight, legs bent, back
straight, the mind calmly choreographs the fluid movements. The club face draws
away from the ball, beginning the wind up that will send the dimpled ball 250
yards straight down the fairway, when someone on a loud speaker casually says,
“good luck.”
Your muscles twitch. The ball lifts off the tee and in a sweeping slice
proceeds deep into the tree line!

Welcome to the JMI! Once again, the duel came down to the final hole last
year as Tim Walsh pared the 18th to card a 78.
There would have been a playoff had David Nielson not bogied 18 to finish
with a 79. |
And, if you check out our scores from last year, I think we would all agree Senator Ted Stevens needs to cut his Anchorage Chief of Staff, Jim Egan, a little slack and give him some time off to play golf. He needs it! A 156… C’mon!
We hope to see you all on sacred fairways of the Anchorage Golf Course on June 3rd. We’ll keep the heckling to a minimum. J
